City Center development accelerates


Design firm to deliver master plan this summer; public outreach continues

Momentum appears to be growing in the decades-long effort to develop the empty land, which surrounds the city’s civic core.

After years of legal wrangling and contentious debate over the property’s future, landowners and city leaders are finally collaborating to create a master plan for the roughly square mile of dormant desert bounded by Bell and Greenway roads, Litchfield Road and Bullard Avenue.

Scott Phillips, vice president of Scottsdale- based Carefree Partners, confi rmed his group has selected a design firm to oversee the development of a master plan for the more than 500 remaining acres awaiting development at the City Center.

Surprise AZ TechCelerator awarded international soft landings designation

Surprise, AZ (March 28, 2018) After completing a rigorous application and peer-review validation process, the AZ TechCelerator is excited to announce its acceptance in the Global Soft Landings Network under the International Business Innovation Association (InBIA).

InBIA recognizes entrepreneurship centers that have the ability to serve foreign companies interested in expanding outside of their domestic markets. The AZ TechCelerator is now a member of the InBIA global network which, as of today, has 31 members in more than 8 countries.

“The AZ TechCelerator clearly demonstrated they have the resources and programming to meet the needs of foreign/non-domestic firms that want to enter the center’s domestic market,” states Kirstie Chadwick, InBIA’s President and CEO.  

Benefits of the designation to the AZ TechCelerator include global visibility, credibility, and opportunities to collaborate with InBIA on international projects and grant proposals. 

The InBIA Soft Landings designation is valid for two years.
