Free sandbags available for flood protection; public reminded to report flooded streets
Surprise, AZ (January 19, 2017) With heavy rain forecast over the next few days, the City of Surprise Public Works Department reminds residents living in flood-prone areas that free sand and bags are available at several city locations.

NOTE: Residents are asked to bring their own shovel to fill the bags. Anyone needing assistance should call Public Works at 623.222.6000.
Designated Public Works crews are on call 24 hours a day during any potential heavy rain events. Crews will be checking for and removing any downed trees and debris, clearing clogged storm drains and closing roads in flooded areas as needed.
