It’s flu season; Surprise Fire-Medical reminds you to know signs, symptoms of the virus

Surprise Fire-Medical Department is urging residents to not only protect yourself against contracting and spreading the flu virus during flu season but also know when to seek emergency medical attention should you or someone you know get the flu.

Protect yourself from the flu virus this year; get vaccinated; wash your hands often with soap and warm water; avoid people who are sick; and use prescription medication as your doctor recommends it.

Understanding the signs and symptoms of the virus is also important to prevent contracting and spreading the flu. Common signs of the flu can include:
